Impact

Education Sector
Strong Working Relations With Institutions

We have developed strong working relations with numerous educational institutions in the country. We strongly believe that the future of Kenya is in the hands of our promising youth, who, with the correct nurturing facilities, can achieve such promising futures. By funding the great ideas and intentions of these facilities, we are hoping that in the long term, we are able to contribute to transforming their livelihoods.

Women’s Empowerment
Inspiring Growth & Development

At SPCL, we are striving towards developing a model that is focused on addressing the empowerment of women in Kenya from its very root. With less than a third of women being empowered in Kenya, it is most certainly an area that needs our attention. By funding our talented local women, they are able to make their famous hand-woven sisal bags (kiondo), authentic jewellery and beautiful Masai fabrics (Shuka) which are not only popular locally, but have earned recognition in the international market. We aim to give them the capital to be able to produce for the demand and encourage them to find platforms to sell in larger quantities and match the demand. Many of these women are sole breadwinners for their family and single mothers so it is important for us as a company to make a noticeable difference in their success.

Small And Medium Enterprises
(SMEs) Empowerment
Supporting For Outstanding Success

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) play a very significant role in most economies, especially in developing countries. They account for most businesses across the globe and are key contributors to creating jobs and global economic development. In most developing countries and growing markets, most formal jobs are generated by SMEs. However, SMEs face the challenge of accessing finances which is a major constraint to their growth. They are less likely to obtain bank loans compared to large firms which results in them relying on internal funds, or cash from friends, family, and well-wishers, to begin their enterprises. At SPLC, we are working towards supporting SMEs initiatives through design and set up of credit guarantee schemes, establishing SME Lines of Credit for start-up firms and exploring other ways of financing SMEs.

Agricultural Empowerment
Raising Incomes Across the Nation

Agriculture is the backbone of Kenya’s economy as it accounts for about 33% of Kenya’s Gross Domestic Product. It provides livelihoods to many Kenyans and emerging economies, especially those living in rural areas. However, access to agricultural finance is often a problem for most people which hinders many farmers from improving their farming skills and adopting new technology that promotes efficient farming. Notably, the agricultural sector also poses a number of challenges for financial institutions such as weather risks and other challenges that offer a lack of precision for evaluating investment opportunities. SPCL aims to help increase the availability of agricultural finance in Kenyan rural areas by promoting appropriate risk-mitigation products and skills development in financial institutions.

Automotive Sector
Driving Collaboration Action

Car financing is a solitary solution for many Kenyans seeking to own vehicles for either private or commercial purposes but lack adequate funds. This is largely because numerous financial institutions and individual lenders offer fast auto financing services in Kenya. At SPCL we are committed to providing our customers with the opportunity to improve their credit and achieve their goals of owning automobiles.
